Tesla will recall almost 135,000 automobiles to restore a pc reminiscence failure that would pose a security threat, US regulators mentioned on Tuesday.

The recall covers the 2012 to 2018 Model S sedans and the 2016 to 2018 Model X SUVs geared up with a NVIDIA Tegra three processor, Tesla mentioned in its notification to NHTSA.
When the flash reminiscence within the touchscreen reaches the top of its helpful life, it “can cause failures of the center display software components, and may indirectly cause loss of the rearview camera display, defrost/defog control settings and exterior turn signal lighting,” the producer mentioned.

NHTSA opened a preliminary investigation into the problem of backup digicam failures in June 2020.
