Ottapidaram is an Assembly/Vidhan Sabha constituency within the Thoothukudi district of Tamil Nadu. It falls underneath the Thoothukudi Lok Sabha constituency. It is a Scheduled Caste reserved constituency.
In the 2016 Tamil Nadu Assembly election, the Ottapidaram constituency had a complete of two,20,737 registered voters.

Past election outcomes and winners
In the 2016 Tamil Nadu Assembly election, R Sundararaj of the All India Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam occasion (AIADMK) gained the Ottapidaram seat. He gained 65,071 votes, as in opposition to 64,578 votes gained by his important rival Dr Krishnasamy Okay of Puthiya Tamilagam (PT).
In the 2011 Assembly elections, the Dr Krishnasamy Okay of Puthiya Tamilagam (PT) gained this seat by beating S Raja Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (DMK).
Election date and timing
The Tamil Nadu Assembly polls shall be held on 6 April 2021, together with Kerala and Puducherry. The day will even see section three polls in Assam and West Bengal. 92,000 polling cubicles shall be there for the meeting polls. The counting of the votes is scheduled for two May.
The official notification of the Assembly polls within the state is scheduled for 12 March. The nomination of candidates shall be accepted from then until 19 March. The scrutiny of nominations shall be achieved on 20 March and the final date for withdrawal of candidature is 22 March.
