Noida: Over 3,300 folks have been fined throughout Noida and Greater Noida on Thursday for not sporting a face masks in public place, the Gautam Buddh Nagar police stated.
Challans have been additionally issued to the house owners of almost 1,700 automobiles for flouting COVID-19 protocols and site visitors guidelines, the police stated, including 27 automobiles have been impounded within the motion.
Amid a surge in circumstances of COVID-19, the district police alerted folks by public announcement system and patrolled crowded locations to lift consciousness concerning the state of affairs, a police spokesperson stated.
“As many as 3,364 people who were found without face masks in public places were issued challans and Rs 3.36 lakh collected from them in fines,” the spokesperson stated.
“Action was taken under Section 188 (disobeying government order) against 70 people and FIRs were lodged in 30 such cases,” the official added.
Challans have been issued in opposition to the house owners of 1,685 automobiles and Rs 1.99 lakh collected from them in fines whereas 27 automobiles impounded, the police stated.
Besides checking for face masks, automobiles have been checked for site visitors guidelines like traditional routine, the police added.
