An idol of Lord Hanuman was vandalised within the early hours of Monday in Sahibganj, Jharkhand, and an individual has been detained in reference to the incident, information company PTI reported citing an official.

The 1.5-foot-tall idol is housed in a temple beneath a tree within the Sahibganj city police station space, 425 kilometres from Ranchi, in line with Sahibganj deputy commissioner Ramniwas Yadav. As phrase of the incident unfold within the morning, right-wing activists and locals gathered close to the temple and blocked the highway for about an hour, demanding that the perpetrator be apprehended.
“There’s a Hanuman temple close to Patel Chowk, and anti-social parts indulged in mischief there. We’ve got recovered the CCTV footage. We’re verifying it. Some folks have been recognized, they are going to be questioned. District Administration will take stringent motion towards them:” Sahibganj deputy commissioner was quoted as saying by the information company ANI.
In line with PTI, police used the stick with disperse the gang. Through the day, the administration suspended web providers as a precautionary measure, it stated.
“The person was detained by police, and he’s being interrogated completely, Yadav stated. “The state of affairs on the town is properly beneath management. As a precaution, we now have suspended web service for twenty-four hours starting at 9 am on Monday,” he added additional.
Anuranjan Kispotta, superintendent of police in Sahibganj, advised PTI that safety forces have been deployed within the space and that the state of affairs is beneath management.
“The idol was repaired and returned to its unique location,” he said.
A senior police officer was injured throughout a conflict between two communities in Sahibganj city on Saturday throughout the immersion of a Durga idol.
Goddess Durga is worshipped in Jharkhand throughout the ‘Chaiti Durga’ competition, which takes place round this time of 12 months.
