CBSE Board Exam 2024: More MCQs From Next Year, Weightage To Competency Based Questions Increas


The Central Board of Secondary Training (CBSE) has introduced adjustments to its evaluation scheme for the CBSE board exams 2024. As per the information company PTI, the alterations are aligned with the Nationwide Training Coverage (NEP). Beneath the revised scheme, the importance of competency-based questions has been elevated, whereas that of quick and long-answer-type questions has been decreased.

In Class 10, half of the questions within the examination might be competency-based and should take the type of multiple-choice questions (MCQs), case-based questions, source-based built-in questions, or different varieties. Within the earlier educational session, the weightage for such questions was 40 p.c.

The target questions in each Class 10 and Class 12 exams will now completely comprise MCQs and carry a weightage of 20 p.c.

In comparison with the earlier educational 12 months, the weightage for short-answer and long-answer sort questions has decreased from 40 p.c to 30 p.c.

Equally, for Class 12 exams, 40 p.c of the questions might be competency-based, consisting of MCQs, case-based questions, source-based built-in questions, or different varieties.

The weightage for competency-based questions was 30 p.c within the earlier educational session.

For Class 12 exams, the target questions will now be within the type of MCQs and carry a weightage of 20 p.c. Moreover, the weightage for short-answer and long-answer sort questions has been decreased from 50 p.c to 40 p.c in comparison with the earlier educational 12 months.
