Bypolls 2023: AAP Wins Jalandhar, Apna Dal Sweeps UP’s Suar, Chhanbey, UDP, BJD Win In States


New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Get together (AAP) on Saturday registered victory within the Jalandhar Lok Sabha seat bypoll in Punjab whereas within the meeting by-elections, Bharatiya Janata Get together (BJP) allies Apna Dal (Sonelal) gained in Uttar Pradesh. United Democratic Get together (UDP) bagged a seat in Meghalaya whereas the ruling BJD gained in Odisha. The bypolls to the lone Lok Sabha seat, two meeting constituencies in Uttar Pradesh and one seat every in Odisha and Meghalaya have been held on Could 10.

In Jalandhar, AAP candidate Sushil Rinku defeated his Congress rival Karamjit Kaur Chaudhary by a margin of 58,691 votes. This win gave the ruling celebration in Punjab and Delhi its solely member within the Lok Sabha.

In the meantime, in Odisha, the ruling BJD retained the Jharsuguda meeting seat as its candidate Dipali Das defeated her BJP rival Tankadhar Tripathy by 48,721 votes.
