Kokrajhar/Guwahati: Ruling NDA constituent United People’s Party Liberal (UPPL) and the Opposition Congress-led grand alliance companion, the Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), on Monday launched their first record of candidates for the upcoming Assam Assembly election.
Addressing a press convention, UPPL working president Rwngwra Narzary mentioned the occasion will deal with giving equal rights to all individuals in Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) and bringing lasting peace there.
The occasion nominated its vp Basumatary, at the moment the deputy chief of Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC), from the Udalguri constituency.
UPPL additionally gave a ticket to Ratendra Daimary for contesting from the Majbat seat, Narzary mentioned. The BJP has fashioned an alliance with the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) and UPPL to combat the Assam Assembly polls.
Meanwhile, the BPF on Monday introduced names of 4 candidates. Congress chief Durga Das Boro joined the BPF in presence of its chief Hagrama Mohilary and he was provided candidature from the Kalaigaon constituency.
BPF, which was a part of the BJP-led state authorities, has joined the Congress-headed seven-party Grand Alliance. At a press convention at Kokrajhar, Mohilary introduced the names of the 4 candidates, together with Boro.
Senior cupboard minister Rihon Daimary obtained a ticket for the Udalguri constituency, whereas Karuna Kanta Sorgoyari and Charan Boro will contest from Panery and Majbat seats respectively.
Hagrama expressed confidence that the opposition alliance will kind the following authorities with full majority and take away the BJP from the facility.
The Congress has fashioned a ‘Grand Alliance’ with AIUDF, Bodoland People’s Front (BPF), CPI, CPM, CPI(ML) and Anchalik Gana Morcha (AGM) to combat the upcoming Assembly election towards the BJP-led NDA.
BPF had received all of the 12 seats from the erstwhile Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) through the 2016 Assembly polls.
Meanwhile, the newly floated political outfit Raijor Dal on Monday introduced the record of candidates for the upcoming Assam Assembly elections.
For the third section of election, the Raijor Dal named six contestants — Dibash Phukan for Gauhati East, Russel Hussain for Barkhetri, Kamal Kumar Medhi for Bhabanipur, Asraful Islam for Jania, Aminul Haque for Goalpara East and Sujon Das for Sapaguri, mentioned a launch of the Dal.
The extra record for the primary section are Dibbajit Dutta for Lahowal and Prabin Das for Dergaon. Pankaj Asomiya for Kolaigaon is the extra title for the second section.
Elections to the 126-member Assam Assembly might be held in three phases on 27 March, 1 April and 6 April.
