Dehradun: Amid a surge in Covid-19 circumstances, the Uttarakhand authorities on Tuesday made it obligatory for individuals coming from a dozen states to furnish adverse RT-PCR check studies not older than 72 hours on arrival.
Issuing the advisory, Chief Secretary Om Prakash mentioned the restriction would apply to these coming from Maharashtra, Kerala, Punjab, Karnataka, Chhattisgarh, Madhya Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Gujarat, Haryana, Uttar Pradesh, Delhi and Rajasthan by highway, air and trains from April 1.

People coming from these states, together with these residing in Uttarakhand, shall strictly adhere to the norms of security and social distancing as per the rules of the Home Affairs and the Health ministries and that of the state authorities, the advisory mentioned.
Violations might be punishable below the Disaster Management Act, 2005, the Epidemics Act, 1897, and related sections of the Indian Penal Code, it mentioned.
Persons above 65 years of age, these with co-morbidities, pregnant ladies and kids under 10 are suggested to journey solely in unavoidable circumstances, the advisory mentioned.
The district administration shall make preparations for random Covid-19 testing on the airport, railway stations and all border test posts, it added.
